Tom Martin Music Director

Christ Church Episcopal Music

Good music has always been part of the tradition at Christ Church.  We are fortunate to still have a very active volunteer choir who sings every Sunday at the 10:30 service as well as for special occasions.  From time to time we employ the services of  professional instrumentalists and singers.

Our current pipe organ was built in 1968  by the L.A. Carlson Company.  This fine instrument has 23 ranks of pipes (over 13,00 individual pipes) on two manuals and pedal. About half the pipes were saved and re-used from previous organs in the church. Pipe chambers are found on either side of the sanctuary.     The console was rebuilt in 2005 by Rosenberry and Myers.   At that time a complete midi system was also installed.  In 2009 new blowers were installed and some of the reservoirs restored.   Regular maintenance is always top priority for this wonderful instrument since the replacements cost today would be prohibitive.

In June 2010, the Church also received the gift of an 1893 Knobne Grand Piano that will be premiered in the Fall of 2010 with a concert of many hands and styles -- clasical and jazz.

Our Music Director and Choir Master is Thomas Martin (pictured at right).
